【报告摘要】Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMP) is considered in Europe to be the successor of the well-known Transport Master Plans or Local Transport Plans of an urban area. SUMPs are strategic plans which focus on people and not on traffic and their main target is to achieve the goals of Sustainable Mobility both in short-medium term and long term horizons.

The presentation will focus on the SUMP concepts as these have been studied by research consortia and discussed within the different fora at the European level by several involved stakeholders (such as city-networks and mobility platforms) and will give a short description of the new SUMP Guidelines which are about to be approved by the European Commission.

The presentation will include examples of SUMPS in some European cities, making reference to the goals set in each case and the actions/measures taken to achieve them. Such actions/measures include PT promotion, Mobility Management and Land Use integration, awareness campaigns and behaviour change measures, ITS applications, etc. It will also include the experience of the speaker from the SUMP of Greater Thessaloniki area which started in 2011 and was concluded in March 2014.

【报告人简介】Dr. PanosPapaioannou is the full professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Dr. Panos’ research activities include traffic engineering, mobility management, public transport and transport economics. He has more than 1450 papers published in scientific journals and proceeding of international conferences, meanwhile serving as a reviewer of several scientific journals and conferences (e.g., Accident Preventions and Analysis, Transportation, IEEE, IET, etc.). He also participated approximately 45 research projects (National and European) as a researcher and mostly as project manager.
